International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia #IDAHOT2018

May 17th celebration of SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Issues) with focus on eliminating all kinds of phobias towards LGBTQI community is rather a young phenomenon. Frenchman Louis-Georges Tin was founder of the day, in 2004. Originally called just the Day Against Homophobia, it celebrates the date when WHO (World Health Organisation) removed homosexuality from its classification of diseases in 1990.

How can you participate?

  • stay updated with LGBTQI issues and discussions in your own country and area

  • post your message of support, with a photo preferably, on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube or any other social media channel that you use. Particularily useful to infilrate those messages into networks that are popular in the countries with lesser record of human and equal rights.

  • educate yourself and your friends about the issues of equal rights

  • have fun, this is your day, whether you are LGBTQI person yourself or simply one of our proud allies - #rainbowally
