Rick Copp: Tallinn Bearty is event above others

After a successful weekend in April 2018 (Bears in Cinematography) we asked few questions for feedback from one of our guests - producer, writer and "Reggie" of the Where The Bears Are, Rick Copp (Palm Springs, USA).

what is your opinion of Tallinn Bearty as a festival of LGBT bear subculture?

I think the festival was a huge success and what I loved most about it was how it mixed culture with your typical bear weekend of fun. It was not all about drinking and socializing and I loved meeting the other artists and filmmakers, which really lifts the event above others.

what surprised you, what did you like?

I loved the mix of attendees, and as always, it’s mostly about meeting other people from all over the world, from different cultures. What surprised me most was the city of Tallinn. I did not know what to expect and I fell in love with it immediately.

what do you recommend we could do differently, overall? or in 3 years (when we return our focus on bears in cinematography)?

When you do cinematography again I would like to have more screenings, not just the one afternoon where you show just a short and a film. I loved taking part in the discussion and wanted more of that. Perhaps two afternoons of screenings. The parties were all perfect and the other social events were wonderfully planned.

Tallinn Bearty (TB) has set its course on bringing fresh breeze every time we organize or promote something. Every year sees us put focus on one top arts category: visual arts, music or cinematography. Our aim is to power bear brotherhood in a way that will advance equal rights for everyone, in or out of our own community.
